Right: Video: Tropical Storm
Barry visits Brunswick and St. Simons Island in Southeast Georgia. This view is
of the Atlantic Ocean at Neptune Park on St. Simons Island near the St. Simons Pier which is not visible in
this video. Needless to say, I stayed in the car while making the
video.

Left: looking down Parkwood Dr in Brunswick. In the
distance, a tree has come down on the roadway.
Right: Looking down US 17
southbound.
Above, left and right: Eastbound on the F.J. Torras Causeway
heading to St. Simons Island. Even though this road was built by the State of
Georgia (and toll was collected by same untill a few years ago), this road does
not carry a State Highway designation.
Above and below: Looking at the Atlantic Ocean from Neptune
Park on St. Simon's Island. These pictures were taken from the same perspective as the video above.
Below left: looking across the marsh near East Beach.
Below right: The intersection of Demere and Frederica Roads; a heavily
travelled intersection during the week. It can take several cycles of the light
to get through if traffic is bad. There has been talk of replacing the
intersectionwith a roundabout; there are already two of them elsewhere on
Frederica Road. Sorry about the windshield wiper. Its kind of hard to time these
pictures with the lag of a digital camera and I didn't have much time to
take the pic as the light was fixing to turn green.
Below: What worldofnecromancer nature related spectacle
would be complete with out the infamous Sidney Lanier Bridge included? These
were taken from the old alignment of US17 to where the old drawbridge once was,
which is now used as access to a marina and to the underconstruction "Liberty
Harbor," development.
Below left: another shot of the Sidney Lanier Bridge.
Below right: Looking at the Marshes of Glynn from Overlook Park in
Brunswick. For the road geeks, this park is located at the southern terminus of
US 25.
Below: headed north on US 17 and home to get out of this
mess. Left: approaching the intersection of the F.J. Torras Causeway from
earlier.
Right: Approaching the intersection of Parkwood Dr. I was hoping to
get the traffic lights horizontal from the winds, but alas, they died down as I
took the picture.
