into large bodies of water that have formed in the road after a
storm.
These pictures say a thousand words each about why you should
never drive into standing water like this temporary lake that formed last year
when tropical Storm Tammy hit. The drivers caimed that the water swept them off
the road. No. The water rose. They went off the road most likely because they
were using the STOP sign, the fire hydrant and telephone pole as guides. All
three of them are on the other side of a ditch from the road.
